Being a parent is totally rewarding, but we also know it can be a little bit tricky. With Father’s Day just around the corner we thought all of the Dad’s out there could use a little break. That’s why we have pulled together these top five Dad hacks to help make life a little simpler and a lot more fun.
Dad Hack #1: The harder you play, the longer they will nap.
Kids and puppies are very similar in that the more you play with them, the more they will need a nice long nap after the play session. Bring your little one to GameTime and load up those game cards for an hour or two of arcade fun and before you know it, they will be ready for a long afternoon nap. That gives you the time you need to do some cleaning, some cooking, some laundry, or to take a nap yourself! After all, it is your day.
Dad Hack #2: Running after your kid IS exercise.
Father’s Day and the beginning of Summer go hand in hand which means it’s time to put away that Dad-bod for the season. You would be amazed at the amount of calories you can burn by chasing after your kid, especially if you make that plural! Throw in some Dance Dance Revolution, or engaging with our new, state-of-the-art Virtual Reality systems, and you will be saying goodbye to your Dad-bod in no time.
Dad Hack #3: Always wear layers.
We’ve all been there. Those chicken wings are so darn tasty until that wing sauce accidentally drips or your kid spills that slushie all over the front of your shirt. Have no fear! Just layer up and you’ll be able to get back to good, clean fun in no time! No mess. No fuss.
Hack #4: A game of hoops settles any dispute.
So your daughter wants to play Pac-Man next but your son feels the need to speed in a car racing video game, who gets to play their game first? Rather than running the risk of one of them throwing a temper tantrum, have them battle it out over a game of hoops. Whoever gets the highest score gets to play their game first.
Hack #5: The “Oh, look over there!” fake out.
It’s hard to resist any food, but resisting our delicious French fries, or a slice of our pizza is just impossible. When you want to sneak a taste of what’s on your kid’s plate, try the “Oh, look over there” fake out. We guarantee you it will work almost every single time!
We know some of these hacks are a little out there, but hey, they work! Celebrate Father’s Day with a delicious treat, and a fun time for the whole family at GameTime located on King George Road in Brantford. Happy Father’s Day!
